Athletes in Action baseball is a part of the sports ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. Since 1980, our teams have traveled the world playing the game of baseball and sharaing the message of hope through Jesus Christ. Our purpose is threefold:
1) to promote international goodwill throuhg the game of baseball;
2) to help athletes maximize their mental, physical, & spiritual potential;
3) to challenge people to get to know God through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We accomplish our purpose through games, clinincs, camps, & competing teams.
CHALLENGE
Were we born winners or losers? We believe we were born choosers. Jesus offers each of us a choice according to Joshua 24:15, "But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve." We can choose Christ's forgiveness for our sins or reject it. Jeasus paid a debt He did not owe because we owe a debt we cannot pay. Our good deeds cannot erase our bad ones. Our virtues cannot cover our vices. When we stand befor a Holy God, only Christ's perfection can adequately cover our imperfection.
That is why our team would like to challenge you to give your life to Jesus Christ. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." In Mark 8:36, Jesus says, "What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?" We know you will soon forget us, but we trust the message we share will live on in your hearts. That is what we call. "Victory Beyond Competition.
PHILOSOPHY
Each member of our team has tried to find purpose and fulfillment in life, We have reached the same conclusion: no amount of fame, money, or pleasure can satisfy the heart of man.
The philosopher Bertrand Russell meust have discovered the same thing when he said, "The center of me is aleays in terrible pain, a searching for something beyond what the world contains." Pascal, the philosopher, put it this way, "There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every men which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God the Creator made known through Jesus Christ."
We are not a religious team. Most of us have tried religion and have found it stifling and unmeaningful. We are a group of men whose lives have been changed by a relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that He alone holds the keys to fulfillment in this life and the life to come.
Mariano Rivera found these samr things to be true. If you are searching for fulfillment, one of our staff or players would count it a privilege to share how a personal relationship with Christ has become a reality in their lives.
